15 April 1996.
Hi there.
This version of Magicube uses VGA graphics to simulate dimensions.
- Computer Solves
- Better Library
- all 3 Slices are supported
- More comprehensive Help Screens
- lots o unnoticeable upgradeage
If you already know how to solve the Magic Cube, then this is
something you definitely will want --- if you can't solve the
Magic Cube (aka Rubik's Cube) then this is just a cool puzzle
program... (that's REALLY hard to solve)
Who knows, if you get good at this,
maybe you'll be ABLE to solve the cube!
(How cool would that be..?)
What I'm saying is: You don't have to be a cube stud to
have fun with this software.
I find it's entertaining sometimes just to go to yon Macro Area
and input random strings to see if they have cool effects.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
NOTE: If you already have MagiCube V2.0 or others, you may want
to make a separate directory for this software.
Keep in mind, all versions use the same library files, but
they can be copied, too.
To Install:
Make a directory for Magic Cubage
(ex.) MD Cube
Unzip the .ZIP file into the directory
To Run:
Just cruise on into the Directory
and type "MagiCube"
it's just THAT simple (shlubba)

(For more info read CUBE.DOC)
The instructions are pretty self explanatory, and if you need
help or want to suggest improvements you can reach me at:
Kenneth E Scoggins "hey, Baby.."

This software costs a cool, refreshing $5 to register (send loot
to above address) and the registered version allows you
to Load and Save Macros as well as have the computer solve the cube
itself (a little "artificial" AI)....plus, like so many people
get a cube with their registration, too...!
No WAY!
Way.
PS: If you're one of those people who judge software value based on
file size, try to imagine the code tracking it takes to do
something like this...
(The code environment is ten times the software size)
Anyone who has read David Singmaster's "Notes on Rubik's Magic Cube"
will recognize the notation as an offspring of that presented
in his fine book (which I carried around for most of me High School
years)....
BTW a good algorithm to try:
BlDDLDfDDFdbfRuuruBUUbUF (it's REALLY cool and was discovered
by one of Mr. (Dr?) Singmaster's
colleagues--who's name I forget--I
wanna say "Thistlethwaite" (?)
but that might be just because it's
fun to say)
Anyway, take it for a "spin" and have some fun...
( Don't Forget )
( to Register...)

23 Nov 1996
This is the newest version of Magicube (V4.00). It is
far superior to the version I presented in April. That version was
workable in form and function, but this version is more enhanced.
The version before the April one showed the cube as an opened
cube (in the form of a cross) or one face at a time. It worked very
well, but wasn't easy to look at and solve. This one fixes that
problem.
I also wrote some Rubik's Revenge (remember that 4x4x4?) software
that is still in cross and single face format. It's pretty cool, but since
I can't solve that particular puzzle, I can't teach the computer how
to solve it.
Sucks to be me, huh?
Enjoy it.
